Providing Guidelines for AI Agents

Your AI works fast. But does it actually know what decisions have been made within your organization?

AI assistants draft proposals, prepare decisions, and complete tasks – often faster than anyone can review them. The problem: They don’t know your organization. Which rules apply, what has already been rejected, and why – this information is scattered across meeting minutes, chats, and people’s minds. The result is proposals that sound plausible but miss the mark on your decisions. Rhizome gives your AI agents the guidelines they’re missing: your Organizational Decision Records.

How it works with Rhizome:

01
Relevant decisions become Organizational Decision Records
ODRs are brief, structured decision texts that include context, rationale, and affected parties. This is precisely the format that AI can use as a guide.
02
Direct access to Rhizome via AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT
Through our MCP server, AI tools can access topics and ODRs in Rhizome directly upon request. They are guided by “skills” – our predefined workflows for typical tasks.
03
ODRs serve as a set of criteria for AI agents
Before a concept or draft is circulated, you ask Claude or ChatGPT whether it aligns with your ODRs. Inconsistencies and duplications become apparent before anyone invests time in the discussion.
04
A guided interview leads to a clearly formulated proposal
Using our `rhizome/mirror` skill, your AI agent methodically interviews you about your request and then creates the topic along with a briefing for the team.
05
An agent always acts on behalf of the person who deployed it
Each of its contributions is marked as “via MCP.” The AI drafts; a human takes over and owns responsibility.

Why it matters

The more work AI agents take on, the more important it becomes to determine what guides them. Internal compliance, consistency, and strategic alignment cannot be retrofitted via a prompt – they require a reliable source for what applies. Your ODRs are that source: decided by people, backed by transparent reasoning, and readable by both humans and machines. This is how you set the direction, even as the AI picks up the pace.
